Kogi State Government through the Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural resources directed the total stoppage of illegal mining in the state.
According to a statement signed by Engr. Bashiru Gegu, Commissioner for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources said all the legal operators should henceforth register with Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural resources to enhance peace and criminal free sites.
Due to some unknown operators in mining sites, the operators are advised to register with Ministry of Solid Minerals and Natural resources so as to ascertain genuine Miners.
Failure to adhere to the directive, the state will close down the erring mining operators and sites.
