Kogi State Executive Council Of Organized Labour Passes Vote Of Confidence On Governor Ododo, Assures Of Continued Support

Kogi State Executive Council of the Organized Labour, SEC, has passed a vote of confidence on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo following what it described as an impressive performance.

The Council at its meeting on Wednesday at the Comrade Onuh Edoka Labour House in Lokoja, noted that the Governor has so far demonstrated humane leadership, passion for leadership and a special attention to workers welfare.

According to the labour leaders, the Governor has always demonstrated capacity in governance, doing things differently and positively too to the admiration of all.

The SEC in Session described the Governor as a leader with milk of human kindness, noting that the organised labour has no option than to support his aspiration for a second term in office.

It particularly praised the Governor for the donation of three buses to the organised labour, promise of embarking on massive recruitment and promotions among others as examples of the Governor’s sterling leadership examples.

“We are happy that we have Ododo as our Governor, he is God sent and we as Labour leaders are delighted that he has not disappointed us, viewing from his welfare programmes and policies concerning the workers”, the statement reads in part.

Speaking separately, the Chairman of Nigeria Labour Congress, NLC, Comrade Gabriel Amari, his Trade Union Congress Counterpart, Sule Tijani Ahmed and Chairman, Joint Public Service Negotiating Council, JNC, Comrade Olusegun Alemeru all extolled the virtues of the Governor with a commitment to support his re-election.

Speaker after speaker at the session commended the present administration in the state for its efforts so far in both human and infrastructural development and appealed to the Governor to address other critical areas of need of the workers.

The SEC-In Session also acknowledged the contributions of the Special Adviser on Labour Matters, Comrade Onuh Edoka whose ideas and Innovations have helped to shape the governance style as it relates to workers.
