Kogi State Council of Ulamau Holds Special Prayer For Peaceful Repose of Late. Alh. Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.

As Kogites continues to mourn Alh. Ahmed Momohsani Ododo’s passing, the Kogi State Council of Ulamau on 25th August, 2025 held a special prayer session for a peaceful repose of the deceased held at the State Government House, Mosque, Lokoja.
The prayer session, which followed the three-day Fidau prayers held on Wednesday last week, drew Islamic Scholars and dignitaries from across the State.
Leading the session, Chairman, Kogi State Council of Ulamau, Sheikh Salman Adam, who said the purpose of the gathering is to offer prayers for Allah to have mercy on the deceased, paid glowing tributes to the life and achievements of late Alh. Ahmed Momohsani Ododo.
Sheikh Salman described the death of Alh. Ahmed Momohsani Ododo as a great loss to the State and Nigeria at large.
He urged the Governor and entire family of the deceased to find solace in the fact that their father lived a life worthy of emulation.
Sheikh Salman who is the Chief Imam of Ankpa Central Mosque used the occasion to urge Kogites to continue to pray for the deceased and remember him in all their daily supplications.
Speaking on the importance of remembering our parents in prayers, Imam Monsur Muhammed in his admonishion, called on Muslims not to abscribed any word or action diminishing their parent status.
He urged the congregation to continue to pray for their parents either dead or alive for Allah’s blessings.
Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo in a message to the occasion, expressed gratitude to the Council of Ulamau for standing by him and his family during this trying time.
The Governor, who was represented by the State Commissioner for Water Resources, Engineer Yahaya Faruk, said the death of his father has brought forth the need for unity in the State, urging the people of the State to sustain their unity beyond the mourning period.
Earlier, the Chairman, Kogi State Civil Service Commission, Barrister Tanko Muhammed appreciated the Council of Ulamau for deeming if fit to offer prayers for the late Alhaji Ahmed Momohsani Ododo, praying Allah to accept all the supplications offered.
Also speaking, the forum Chairman of Education Secretaries in Kogi State and Education Secretary of Kogi Local Government Area, Salihu Ademu Usman described the prayer as a show of love by the Council of Ulamau to the Governor and his late father.
Director General, Kogi State Broadcasting Corporation, Princess Nana Hauwa Yusuf, Director General Protocol, Government House, Lokoja, Alhaji Suleiman Ibrahim, Members of Lokoja Local Government Legislative Council were among dignitaries present at the event.
