The Kogi State Government is represented at the ongoing United Nations Climate Change Conference, currently holding in Egypt.
The Conference where a lot of cross-cutting issues bordering on climate change, its impacts in Africa and the world, flood disaster risk management, reduction in carbon emissions, afforestation, and the need to kick-start global partnership on waste management have been put forward for deliberation.
The leader of the Nigerian delegation is the Hon. Minister of Environment, His Excellency, Mohammed H. Abdullahi.
The Kogi State Commissioner for Environment, Hon. Omofaiye Victor Adewale, presented a paper titled: “Build Back Better – Mitigation and Adaptation for Climate Resilience and Economic Transformation in Kogi State of Nigeria.”
The paper speaks on the reduction of erosion and land degradation, as well as adaptation mechanisms for environmental sustainability.
