Speaker of the Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. (Prince) Matthew Kolawole with some of his colleagues attended the 2021 Ekinrin-Ade and Ogidi annual day celebrations simultaneously
The two communities which were agog as the honourable members joined other dignitaries from all walks of life to celebrate with the two communities.
Speaking at Ekinrin-Ade the Lawmaker commended the traditional ruler and the organisers of the event for a well thought initiative to have an event where the Community can come together to celebrate their unity, peace and development to also showcase their rich cultural heritage to the world.
According to him, he was glad to have led other members to witness the colorful event and also to celebrate one of their own in the sixth Assembly, Hon. Victor Omofiaye who is one of the sons of the soil, stressing that such events are needed to foster unity in the Community.
He urged the people to continue to give support to the current administration in the state led by Governor Yahaya Bello, pointing out that the administration has been up and doing in providing security, Infrastructures in Education, health and road sectors as seen in the ongoing reconstruction of Kabba township roads and the Ekinrin-Adde – Ife- Olukotun road.
He also appealed to the people to support the presidential quest of the youngest Governor in Nigeria to realize his aspiration as that will further boost the development of not only the area but the entire country, as Governor Yahaya Bello have what it takes to unite the country and reduce the security menace to the nearest minimum.
He urged Ijumu leaders to reorganize their annual events for it not to clash again as it seems that Ogidi and Ekinrin-Ade, two major communities in Ijumu are having their community days same day, pointing out that such events should be hosted on different day to allow diginatries that want to attend to have a full day with them.
He congratulated all that were conferred with the honourary Chieftaincy titles and awards in both Ekinrin-Ade and Ogidi Community respectively, urging them to justify the confidence repose in them.
