Kogi Solid Minerals Commissioner Escapes Assassination Attempt.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Abubakar Gegu has narrowly escaped assassination attempt in Koton Karfe.
The accident according to eye witness account happened Wednesday afternoon, after a successful program, held at the Ohimegye Palace in Koton karfe.
The hoodlums according to report were seated under Oyara tree as the Commissioner’s convoy was passing through to the highway on his way to Gegu his hometown.
In the Commissioner’s convoy were the Executive Chairman of the Local Government, Hon. Abdulmalik Musa, SSA on road Maintenance, Pipeline regulations, Hon Abdullahi Idowu and Hon. Ibrahim Said respectively as well as some LSA‘s and WSA.
According to report, the hoodlums openly shot at the particular vehicle in which the commissioner was seated, shattered the windscreen and other glasses.
The Commissioner’s vehicle, bullet ridden escaped narrowly with the expertise of the driver who managed to escape the ambush.
Efforts to speak with the Police Public Relations Officer, DSP William Ayah for confirmation on the matter was not possible as he could not be reached.
