Kogi Polytechnic Matriculate 6,549 students for 2024/2025 academic session.

 

The Kogi State Polytechnic Lokoja, has matriculated a total of 6,549 students for the 2024/2025 academic session, spread across Eight (8) Schools and Fifty Seven (57) various programmes in the Polytechnic.

The matriculation ceremony is also the 32nd Matriculation Ceremony of the State Polytechnic, fifth (5th) in the series of Matriculation ceremony presided over by Prof. Ogbo as Rector.

Prof. Salisu Ogbo Usman, Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, made the disclosure at the 32nd matriculation ceremony, held at the matriculation ground

The Rector used the medium to announce the verdict of the National Board for Technical Education (NBTE) on the Institutional Accreditation, Resource Inspection and Programme accreditation conducted on18th – 20th December, 2024, said out of the twenty seven (27) programmes presented, the institution recorded 100% resounding success.

The Rector disclosed that out of the 57 programmes in the institution, 19 of them were introduced under his administration, representing 33.3 percent of all programmes in the Polytechnic.

While noting that the institution have recorded notable milestones in structural and academic development, said it is geared towards making learning worthwhile.

He added that the institution is driving towards achieving infrastructural development as reflected in conducive offices, classrooms, lecture theatres, studios and laboratories spread across Schools and Departments.

The Rector warned against gun-running, examination malpractice, drug abuse, alcoholic addiction, unhealthy social gatherings, cybercrimes, incitement to violence, gangsterism, misuse and destruction of public property, stealing, and indecent dressing, among others as vices frowned at by the Polytechnic.

He warned students to stay away from these vices to avoid running afoul of the law as any breach the Rector explained will attract appropriate penalty, including outright expulsion and prosecution.
