57 Days to the Governorship Election in Kogi State, former Senior Special Assistant, SSA on Agriculture, Honourable Sumaila Idrisu to Governor Yahaya Bello has defected along with 2000 supporters to the Social Democratic Party, SDP.
Idrisu who formally decamped from the All Progress Congress, APC with his supporters. at Ewowolo in Ochadamu ward in Ofu Local Government Area of the State while speaking to Newsmen said he decided to leave the party as a result of prevailing poverty in the state.
He said his defection has no ethnic colouration but a clear need to restore sanity to the state which he claimed the time has come.
He thanked his former boss, Governor Yahaya Bello for appointing him as one of his aides in 2016, adding that he needed to move forward in his bid to ensure even development of his community which has suffered neglect since 3 years ago.
He therefore charged his people to come out en mass to vote massively for the governorship candidate of the Social Democratic Party, SDP, Alhaji Murtala Yakubu Ajaka
