Yagba Federal Constituency comprises of 3 LGAs namely Mopa -Amuro ,Yagba East and Yagba West .
These LGA’s are known for their political sophistication based on past and history, when it comes to political decision making at the poll .
You could recalled that, it was the only constituency that resisted PDP rigging machine in the era of political manipulation, imposition of candidates in Kogi state , where ACN produced the famous and youngest Kogi State House of Assembly member in person of Hon Adeyemi Bidemi in 2011 while AD in 2007 in person of RT. Hon Clarence Olafemi .
Also, looking back into 2019 general elections, despite Kogi West have proven to remain the stronghold of PDP in the state ,as well as APC political hypersonic wind of 3/3/and 25/25 sloganism, the Yagba people trumped the duo to vote for Hon Elder Leke Abejide of ADC into House of representative, and the victory was so resounding and overwhelming to the point that both PDP and APC candidates couldn’t challenge the outcome at the court.
As a political pundits, i have monitored the activities and the progress of Hon Elder Leke Abejide, it’s both simplicity and empirically cleared that the man has provided both responsive and qualitative representation as a parliamentarian, as one may expect from an elected individual .
More so, he has set a record of legislative standard for the state by not only representing the interest of his people at the chamber but also the quality of lives he has touched, as well as the development and infrastructure he attracted to Yagba Land ;
Some of Hon. Leke imprints are;
1. Construction of feeder roads and rehabilitation.
2. Provision of Educational Facilities; defraying WASSCE /NECO /JAMB fees, a commitment he was saddle with before becoming a parliamentarian. Equipping of some strategic and selected schools with educational materials ,renovation of schools, and the few weeks ago, he delivered JAMB CBT centre with giant Mikano generator .
3. Rural Electrification :quality and durable Street Light Power to aid community policing and security surveillance of the area.
4. Empowerments : Between 2019- 2022 Hon Leke has carried out visible and life transforming empowerments for Yagba Federal Constituents and rural dwellers ,covering the youths with commercial vehicles, Golf,mini buses ,motorcycles ,Keke Napep, executive cars or vehicles to top political leaders.
6. Employments : He has used his legislative network to facilitate employment for his people and some Kogites .
5. Recognition For Traditional Rulers : fortnite ago ,he gifted all the 8 Yagba 1st Class Chiefs with SUV Jeeps, while 7 second class and 33 third class received Highland Jeeps to befit their status ,this initiative and gesture is quite uncommon.
6.Healthcare. Hon Leke purchases various medical equipments, which was donated to rural health centres across Yagba .
7. Political Relationship : Hon Elder Leke have maintain his good relationship and network with his people, regardless of your party ie ADC ,APC ,PDP ,this has become his number two political shield ,has every political actors within Yagba Federal constituency found it difficult to form a formidable opposition against him, as doing that will amount to confronting Yagba interest, and the catastrophic backlash of it will be grievous, because his people see him as a uncommon legislature.
8.Political Permutation : Hon Leke being a graduate of Tinubu political philosophy and democratic ideals ; he has openly endorses Tinubu for president against his own personal interest of seeking reelection, and have since set-up machinery in actualizing it , on the platform of ASIWAJU CONFLUENCE CAMPAIGN ORGANIZATION ( ACCO2023) targeting seven state’s for Tinubu/Shettima with gigantic campaign office in the heart of Lokoja, whereas ,he’s serving as a National Coordinator of the support group with over 5000 canvassers already on the field.
Politically ,this has become his number one major political permutation and arsenal;
how would you expect an APC members in Yagba Axis to campaign with their true conscience against a man who have damned it all for Tinubu to win in 7 state and his Federal Constituency ….?
How would you expect a PDP member to campaign against Hon Leke Abejide of ADC after all he has done for their people…?
If this people make Hon Leke Abejide to be their choice; will you be right to accuse them of anti-party ?…,if the main aim of electing representative his for good leadership and Leke has justified that in the past 3 years …!
This is a *Hard_Choice_Before_Yagba_People* ;
To vote continuity of good service to the people and quality representative or to toil the party line for fluctuating legislative representation ….?
