Kogi PDP Youth Leader Calls on State Government to Address Rising Insecurity.

The Youth Leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Kogi State, Hon. Yunusa Halidu Adazaki has strongly condemned the rising wave of insecurity across the state and has called on Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo The Executive Governor of Kogi State to take immediate and decisive action to protect the lives and properties of citizens.
Hon. Adazaki expressed deep concern over the deteriorating security situation, particularly the recent attacks in Karara and the spread of criminal activities to communities near Lokoja, the state capital. He noted that citizens across Kogi are now living in fear due to the persistent operations of bandits and kidnappers.
The wave of insecurity in Kogi State is alarming. It is a constitutional obligation to protect the lives of our people. Today, many of our citizens are either living in fear or held in captivity—from Yagba East, Yagba West, Kabba Bunu, Mopamoro, Ijumu to Obajana, Ajaokuta, Itobe–Anyigba Road, Ankpa–Anyigba Road, and now Karara, along the Abuja–Lokoja Expressway,” he said.
Alhaji Khalid, who was kidnapped along the Yagba axis, remains in captivity as of today. Despite ongoing efforts, he has yet to regain his freedom from his abductors.
Equally heartbreaking is the killing of a retired soldier by the kidnappers, even after a ransom was reportedly paid.
He stressed the strategic importance of the Abuja–Lokoja road, describing it as one of the most vital and busiest highways in the country, connecting Northern and Southern Nigeria. He warned that the insecurity along this route poses a grave national security risk.
Hon. Adazaki urged the state government to Deploy special security operations to high-risk areas, Collaborate with federal security agencies for coordinated efforts, Set up a task force to rescue those held captive, and Improve surveillance and intelligence-gathering mechanisms.
Hon. Adazaki concluded by reiterating that the PDP will continue to stand with the people of Kogi in demanding a safe and secure environment for all.
