Kogi PDP Deputy Chairman Mourns Professor Mathew Idowu Ajibero


 

 

Says Kogi West PDP has lost an asset worthy of emulation.

The Kogi State Deputy Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Hon. Sam Abenemi, has mourned the death of Prof. Matthew Idowu Ajibero, described him as a worthy Chieftain of the Party From Kogi West Senatorial District.

The PDP Deputy Chairman in a statement said it is with a heavy heart that he received the devastating news of the demise of one of the finest of Kabba (Owe)/Okun patriots and illustrious sons, an erudite scholar and administrator par excellence who served two terms meritoriously as the Rector of the Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja, a solid support of the Party in the Western Senatorial District, whose death occurred yesterday in Ilorin after a protracted illness.

The Deputy Chairman said his death at this time is catastrophic, monumental and a personal loss to the Peoples Democratic Party in Kogi West and Kogi State PDP in general.

He said Professor Matthew Idowu Ajibero is truly an elder statesman, a patriot and down to earth individual who turned around the fortune of Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja when he held sway as the Rector, adding that he mentored countless personalities through employment and admissions that have impacted on those individuals who are now contributing in no small measure to the society at large as a seasoned administrator and  educationist par excellence.

The Deputy Chairman described Prof. Ajibero as a detribalized personality that is ready to go all out to make others comfortable, stressing that he was one of the major Party stakeholders that supported the party wholeheartedly in the Western Senatorial District.

While he noted that though death is an expected end of every mortal hence, the Deputy Chairman enjoined the PDP family in Kogi West to take solace in the words of God which says for everything under the sun there is time, a time to be born, and time to die.

The Deputy Chairman urged the wife of the deceased and children to continue to uphold his legacies of hard work, simplicity, perseverance, truthfulness and honesty as his memory will continue to linger in the minds of Kogi West Senatorial District PDP members forever.
