eliminate illicit drugs.

The Kogi State Chapter, National Youth Council of Nigeria, has lauded the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency in it efforts to eliminate illicit drugs from the Society.
Similarly, the Council under the leadership of Comr. Ben Jerry has praised Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo for his avowed commitment to the commitment to partner with the NDLEA in making the society free from drug abuse.
Comr. Jerry in a statement issued to Newsmen made this known during the official 2025 public destruction of exhibits by the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency, In Lokoja
The NYCN Chairman stressed the significance of a drug-free environment in discouraging young people from using drugs
He lamented the crucial damage the use of illicit drugs has caused on the nation saying severe consequences of drug abuse on individuals, families, and communities can not be over emphasised.
He called on the various authorities to partner in promoting a drug-free lifestyle towards protecting youth from the harmful effects of substance abuse, which can lead to health problems, poor academic performance, and even criminality.
The NYCN Chairman pledged to collaborate with the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) to combat drug abuse and trafficking in the state
He emphasized the devastating consequences of narcotic drugs on human lives, saying there is need for concerted efforts to combat this menace.
