Ahead of the forthcoming election of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, Kogi State Chapter slated for 23rd and 24th of this months, one of the frontline contestants, Comrade BEN JERRY, says he will bring his knowledge and understanding learnt to unite and improve on the lot of the Youths of the State if elected.
Comr. Ben Jerry stated this while addressing the Leadership of the council in Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency, expressed optimism that with his knowledge in the NYCN as an insider, he knows the knitty gritty of the Council, will work in ensuring a united Kogi State NYCN.
He promised to superintend over a state NYCN that will be free of ethnic bigotry, and strive to the make council one where every one will be equal.
According to Comr. Ben Jerry, ” We are all brothers. The struggle for position in the NYCN is not an individual struggle. It is a collective struggle”, assured that he will be a servant leader in all ramification, solicited the support of the Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency NYCN.
Comr. Ben Jerry disclosed that leadership of NYCN is not a child’s play, but a serious business, thus requires an insider who have an understanding of the council, reason why he’s better placed to offer service, appealed for the support of the delegates to enable him reposition the Council.
Comr. Ben Jerry described Gov. Yahaya Bello as a mentor and an inspiration, commended him for making NYCN in the State what it is today, said delegates should choose a Leader who will interface between them and Government to enable them continue to enjoy the support the council has received thus far.
Comr. Ben Jerry says he look forward to having Gov. Bello becoming the next President of Nigeria in 2023, insisting that he has all the qualities and capacity needed to unite, secure and make Nigeria great.
He disclosed that after serving meritoriously for years in the last NYCN, said so much can be said of him and his positive impact, urged the delegates to look in his direction for Sustainable gains achieved in the past years.
While noting that only one person will be at the helms of affairs per time, opined that it is God that gives power, urged the delegates of NYCN from Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency to be firm in their support for him.
In his remarks at the visit, the Coordinator of Lokoja LGA NYCN, Comr. Abdullahi .A. Madami, says
power belongs to God, urged the Chairmanship hopeful not to see the contest as do or die, urged him to see the position also as a privilege if elected to offer selfless service.
Comr. Abdullahi described NYCN Lokoja Kogi Federal Constituency Chapter as one big family, reiterated the support of the district to his aspiration, warned him to be weary of hearsay if and when he’s elected.
Similarly, Comr. Adah Abu, the NYCN Coordinator for Kogi LGA, said the next Leadership of the NYCN should think about the need for consolidation, lauded the gains achieved over the years by the past Leadership.
Comr. Adah Abuh described NYCN as a place for learning Leadership by the Youths, expressed satisfaction that the Chairmanship aspirant has over time gathered experience, urged him to bring his wealth of experience to bear if elected and wished him well in the forthcoming election.
