Kogi NUT Says Commitment To Payment of 100% Salaries For Teachers Remains Top Priority.


 

Organizes Special Annual Solemn Assembly.

 

The State Chairman, Nigerian Union Of Teachers Kogi Statetm Wing, Comr. Joel Salifu Oyibo says the Union is not relenting in its efforts towards ensuring that Teachers in the State are paid 100% salary.

THE STATE CHAIRMAN OF THE NIGERIAN UNION OF TEACHERS KOGI STATE WING, COM. JOEL SALIFU OYIBO MADE THE DISCLOSURE ON THE OCCASION OF ANNUAL SOLEMN ASSEMBLY, HELD ON THE 28TH MARCH, 2023 AT THE TEACHERS GUEST HOUSE, LOKOJA KOGI STATE.

The NUT Chairman says the push for 100% salary payment to teachers in the Basic Education Sub-sector has remained a commitment, pointing out that the Union is more then ever determined in the pursuance of aforementioned.

The NUT Chairman implored representatives of teachers, to continue to be guided by the NUT constitution and other Rule Books of the Union, coupled with the fear of God Almighty in all the do.

” As servant leaders, the beauty and strength of our leadership is dependent on how proactive, persistent and consistent we are in our official agitations and our capacity to protect the weakest teacher from any form of denial of his or her legitimate rights and privileges”.

” Do not fail to seek the guidance of the State Wing as the need arises in the defence of teacher’s right”, he said.

The NUT Chairman said the Union has intensified professional and trade union roles, in membership of education Boards, Institutions, Ministries, Departments and Agencies, whose operations are teaching and education centered, added that the relationship of the NUT with the Nigeria Labour Congress has also been cordial.

The solemn Assembly is the first to be held by the NUT Chairman since his assumption of office.

Kogi State Chairman Of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Comr. Amari Gabriel in a brief remarks at the occasion urged workers to always pray for almighty God intervention in every human challenges facing them, assured of better deal for workers in the State under his Leadership.

Eminent clerics like the General overseer of the Chapel of freedom world wide Bishop John Ibenu, and Mallam Tanko Tale were on hand to offer special prayers for teachers to God to intervene in all the challenges they face in the discharge of their duties.
