Kogi now major player moving minerals resources from pit to market – Solid Minerals Commissioner.
The Kogi State Commissioner For Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, Engr. Bashiru Gegu has disclosed that Kogi State is now leading in moving it minerals resources from the pit to the market.
The Commissioner gave the disclosure at the 3rd day of the African Natural resources and energy investment summit held at Banquet hall of the state House Abuja.
The Commissioner disclosed that if Solid Minerals is the future of the world, added that Kogi State has now remained the world’s future.
The Commissioner made the disclosure while with Carlos Garcia, XCalibur manager for west Africa, Juan Antonio Merino, XCalibur Sales Analyst, Parrha Gosh of African Natural Resource and Mines.
Similarly, the meeting had in attendance the Special Adviser to Saudi Minister of Mineral resources, representative of Kenya Minister of Mine during the meeting.
The meeting centered on Kogi’s solid minerals development with emphasis on available potential of moving solid Minerals from mines to market and from pit to product.
Engr. Bashiru described the rich Mineral resources of the State, as made enabling by the administration of Gov Usman Ahmed Ododo, which has now made the State a destination haven.
The Commissioner showed glowing tributes on the State Governor for his irrevocable commitment to making the state stand out in solid Minerals extraction and processing.
Engr Bashiru disclosed that “because Kogi is the Future of Nigeria, Nigeria the Future of Africa and Africa is the future of the world”, said it is no longer business as usual in the State solid Minerals sector.
He added that since the Policy note of the Federal Government is that no Mineral will leave the nation’s soil without processing, the Commissioner made it clear to the participants at the exhibition that Kogi is already ahead of the Federal Government in that aspect.
The Commissioner disclosed of the State procurement of 15 minerals processing licenses, as well as infrastructure to enable it mine and process solid Minerals in the State.
He pointed out that since his assumption of office, the amiable and most humble Governor, His Excellency Alh Usman Ododo Ahmed, has signed into law the processing pact with Mining companies in the state, towards enhancing job creation, revenue generation and safe mining practices.
In his remarks, the Minister for Solid Minerals Development, Dr. Dele Alake, applauded Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo as the best Compliance Governor as far as solid Minerals development is concerned.
The African Energy summit has Kogi State as part of the program major sponsors, drew many international Mining and solid Minerals investors showing remarkable interest in the State solid Minerals sector.
The meeting attracted Dr Henry Dele Alake Minister of Solid Minerals Development, the host, Engr Simon Nkom, DG mines Cadastral office, Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Solid Minerals development, Engr Farouk Yabo at the Kogi exhibition stand.
Similarly, the Special Adviser to Saudi Arabian Minister of Mineral resources, representative of Kenya Minister of Mine attended the meeting.
