The National Identity Management Commission( NIMC) says the ongoing registration did not attract payment of money before transaction from any individuals in the country.
The State Coordinator of the NIMC, Mallam Owolabi Fatai Utsmam gave the clarification while speaking with newsmen in his office in Lokoja .
Mallam Owolabi Fatai said that since the beginning of the exercise the commission has not charged eligible Nigerians before the exercise.
He debunked the rumour making round that the commission would not folds it’s arms to allow staff engaged anyone elsewhere demand for payment before transaction.
The State Coordinator explained that only those who are updated their date of birth, changing of next of kinds would be allowed to allow to pay as demanded by the commission.
On network SIM Cards linked with the National Identity Management Commission, the coordinator added that the commission would continue to collaborate with the subscribers to provide code to ensure easy registration
According to him , only the headquarters would determined how much an individual should pay , and warned any centers collecting money to desist henceforth or face the wrath of the law.
