KOGI INAUGURATES STEERING COMMITTEE ON COORDINATION OF WORLD BANK PROGRAMS AND PROJECTS.


 

AS CHAIRED BY MUKADAM ASIWAJU ASIRU IDRIS, FCA*

Today 28th October, 2020, the SSG, Dr Ayoade Folashade Arike onbehalf of His Excellency, Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello inaugurated the Steering Committee on Coordination of World Bank programs and Project in the confluence state.

Kogi state government, running on the wheels of new direction is committed to delivering on programmes, projects and policies as subscribed in the world bank initiatives with midas touch. Such strategic step will help to enhance the management and coordination of world bank projects and programmes in the state for proper implementation with the view of meeting the purpose and needs of the people.

The committee is to be chaired by the Honourable commissioner of Finance, Budget and Economic planning; Mukadam Asiwaju Asiru Idris, FCA and other members like the commissioner of Education,Science and technology; Hon Wemi Jones, Commissioner for Rural Development; Hon Ejigbo Oneal, Commissioner for Health; Dr Saka Audu, Commissioner for Agriculture; Hon David Apeh, Commissioner of Environment; Hon Victor Omofaiye, Commissioner for Water Resources; Hon Abdulmumin Danga, Commissioner for Women Affairs and Social Development; Hon Fatima Kabir Buba, Director international Cooperation, MFB&EP; Secretary General of the committee.

The chairman in his brief remark expressed great assurance onbehalf of other members, to deliver excellently on the mandate of the committee as stipulated in the terms of reference. With the men of character and competence in the committee, will are sure ready to deliver clinically on the aims of the committee.

Asiwaju notes that the necessity of the committee is far reaching and very fundamental in coordination and management of the programmes and projects through reduction of resources wastage, enhance efficiency and effectiveness of fund utilization, timely project execution and quality assurance of the projects.
