In a bid to ensure strict compliance with the terms of engagement of Kogi State Health Insurance Agency with accredited Health Care Providers, the Agency has trained ninety six health personnel on the implementation of Bello Care programme in the state.
Speaking at the two days training event held at Good Shepherd Hotel Lokoja, the Executive Secretary of the agency, Dr. Adekunle Aledare urged the participants to make use of the training to provide quality health care services to the vulnerable persons enrolled in the Bello Care free health programme across the twenty one Local Government Areas of the state.
Dr. Aledare noted that the Health Care Providers have a critical role to play in the delivery of quality health care services to the Vulnerable persons enrolled in the scheme in order to ensure there is value for the money invested by the New Direction Administration led by the Executive Governor of Kogi State, His Execellency Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello who has continued to make huge investment in the health sector with a view to reducing morbidities and mortalities, improving life expectancy and quality of life of the good people of Kogi State.
He further noted that Kogi is among the few states that has released Equity fund to enroll vulnerable persons in the state which indicates the love Governor Bello has
for the good people of the state.
The Executive Secretary said the motto of the agency is guaranteed access to quality health care noting that the agency is committed towards providing access to quality health care services for the benefit of the residents of the state.
The Executive Secretary called on the Health Care Providers to treat the enrollees with empathy and dignity adding that the more quality services they provide, the more enrollee the Health Care Providers will get.
Dr. Aledare also appreciated the Honourable Commissioner of Health, Dr. Usman Zakari for the examplary leadership he has brought to bear immediately he assumed office which has provided a renewed zeal and impetus for the Agency to thrive.
