KOGI GOVT. SETS TO REVIVE ANKPA, DEKINA WATER FACILITIES, AS COMMISSIONER INSPECTS WATER FACILITIES EMBARKS ON FEASIBILITY ASSESSMENT TOUR
Following the directives of Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo, the Kogi state commissioner for water resources, Engr Yahaya Muhammed Farouk has carried out an inspection of water works at Ankpa and ODU OFUGO in Dekina local government areas of the state.
The commissioner and his team were received by Ankpa local government council chairman Engr Muhammed Ademu Yahaya Ogbo at the council Secretariat, thank the commissioner for bringing the good message of the governor His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo about the revival of the Ankpa old water works. Prayed for more strength to carry out the mandate.
Hon Engr Farouk upon inspection of the water scheme, the distribution tank and other facilities in the town expressed his displeasure on how dilapidation of the facility, attributed it to vandalization and theft courtesy of improper security surveillance.
In his words “if the whole equipment needed for water distribution is not here then it is as good as Ankpa local government doesn’t have a water scheme”.
Pledging his support to the Ododo led administration’s commitment to deliver portable water to citizens, assured the council boss of reviving the dilapidated and vandalized water scheme if only the local government council will take up the task of owning and securing it going forward.
In his remarks, Hon Engr Ademu Yahaya Ogbo Ankpa LG council boss assured the Honourable commissioner of accepting the task of providing maximum security to the water scheme as Ankpa is known as a high secured place.
He apologized on behalf of the previous administration for negligence expressed confidence in the ability of Gov. Ododo to revive the water scheme.
He further asked the commissioner to extend their heartfelt gratitude to the governor for always taking Ankpa as a priority. Noting how effective changes have been marked since the assumption of Gov Ododo.
Going further on the inspection and feasibility assessment the Honourable commissioner expressed his gratitude to the people of ODU OFUGO for maintaining and securing the scheme’s equipment for more than 10years.
Taking note of the necessary places that needs expansion and rehabilitation, Engr Farouk assured ODU OFUGO residents that Ododo led administration has come to end the worries of no portable water in their community.
Honourable Yahaya Muhammed Farouk affirmed his commitment to delivering the good message of the governor as regards to making portable water available for use.
