Kogi Govt. Promises to Make Roads In Kabba A Model – Engr. Ohere


 

The Kogi State Government says it is committed to making the outlook of roads in Kabba metropolis a model for other local government areas in the State.

Engr. Abubakar Ohere, Kogi State Commissioner for Works and Housing made the disclosure while inspecting ongoing rehabilitation and construction of roads in Kabba, says the State Government would be reconstructing and rehabilitating over 10km of roads in the metropolis.

The Commissioner added that aside the metropolis, the state government would equally be constructing the internal roads in the College of Education Technical Kabba, assured that other roads in the area is equally being considered for construction and rehabilitation.

He explained that he was in Kabba to access the level of ongoing work on the recently awarded roads, expressed satisfaction that the contractors have not only fully mobilized to site, they have carried out surveying marking, says work on the drains are ongoing according to specifications while the stratification is in also progress.

He assured that the Ministry is mindful of the forthcoming raining season, promised to maximize the time before the rains fully Set in, disclosed that the construction work is Gov. Yahaya Bello’s commitment to keeping his campaign promises.

According to the Commissioner the ongoing construction across the state is a fulfilment of the second term promise made by Gov. Bello, expressed satisfaction with the quality of work, compliance and value for money on the Kabba Township Roads.

Speaking during the visit of the Commissioner to Kabba, the Obaro of Kabba, Oba Micheal Owoniyi expressed satisfaction with the work, described Gov. Bello as a promise keeper.

Similarly, the Council Chairman of Kabba Bunu LGA, Hon. Moses Olorunleke, assured of the council’s support to protecting the company’s men and properties, thanked Gov. Bello for remembering the people of Kabba Bunu LGA.

In her remarks, the Provost College of Education Technical Kabba, Mrs Victoria Olusola Jagboro thanked the Governor for the promise to construct roads within the Institution, appealed for the construction of a bridge within the Institution too.

The representative of the Construction Company assured of quality jobs, Promised to complete the work within the stipulated time.
