Kogi Govt. Donates Relief Materials To Victims of Kabba Market Fire


 

Kogi State Government on Thursday donated relief materials to victims of the November 27th market fire disaster in Kabba, Kabba-Bunu Local Government Area.

 

Recall that the fire disaster had burnt down about 24 shops, while goods worth millions of Naira were destroyed.

The Executive Secretary of the State Emergency Management Agency (SEMA), Mr. Isaac Kolade, who presented the items on behalf of the State government conveyed the sympathy of Governor Yahaya Bello to the victims, saying he is standing with them at this trying moment.

According to him, the relief materials were to cushion the effect of the disaster and to put smiles on their faces in this yuletide season.

He stated that the Agency with the National Emergency Management Agency had visited the Market to ascertain the level of damage done.

“On behalf of the State government under the Leadership of His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, we’re here today to donate these relief materials to the Kabba Market Fire disaster.

Also speaking, the Director of Kabba-Bunu Local Government, Mrs. Olorungbogun Funmilayo, represented by Olorunipa James, Deputy Director Administration, thanked the State Government for the gesture, coming at a critical time.

She added that the items will bring relief to the hardship being faced by the victims.

Some of the victims, Ajah Nwaju and Mrs. Kanu Onuka, a window noted that though the damage was devastating, they are grateful for the intervention of Government through SEMA.
