Kogi State Government have been called upon to deploy farming implement to the people of Bassa Local Government to boost food production in the area.
The Clan Head of Edigeshi Chief Joshua Uye made the call while speaking with News men in his palace at Akakana.
Chief Uye said the people of his domain a predominantly Farmer stressing that with modern farm equipment that area is blessed with fertile agricultural land capable of feeding the state and the country.
According to the Royal father manual kind of Agriculture is know longer yielding pumpered hervest noting that the people of his domain are prepared to farm when necessary agricultural materials is provided.
The Aguma of Edigeshi who also is a retired assistant Commissioner of police said he is back home to serve his father land pointing out that him self has gone back to farming as a means of production.
Chief Joshua Uye appealed to Governor Yahaya Bello to direct ministry of Agriculture to provide fertilizer to famers in this reigning season stressing that the area is blessed with fertile agricultural land.
The Royal father Commended Governor Yahaya Bello for his efforts at transforming agricultural sector in the state noting that Agricultural revolution is needful to creating jobs and improving the economy of the country.
Chief Joshua described Bassa Local Government Area as food basket of Kogi State stressing that crop’s such as Rice,cassava,Cashew,maize,Yam, Fish is predominantly Farmed in the area and called on the people of his domain to remain diligent.
He also appealed to the state government to construct Akakana Oguma Ikend road while stressing that the construction of the roads will assist farmers transport their farm produce to the urban city market.
The Clan Head of Edigeshi Chief Joshua Uye appealed to the state government to build him a palace and upgrade him to send class status.
The Royal father reiterate determination to sustain peace in his domain and remain supportive to the administration of Governor Yahaya Bello.
