As campaign activities for November 11 Kogi State governorship election become more pronounced, the Governorship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman (OAU) has unveiled the campaign Secretariat of the Yakubu Support Organization (YSO) in Zango Daji.
The unveiling also witnessed official decamping of hundreds of former members of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP), Social Democratic Party (SDP) and Accord Party.
While addressing the decampees and members of the ethnic unions of Tiv, Hausa/Fulani, Bassa, Igala, Okun and Egbira in the area, the representative of the APC Governorship candidate and party stalwart, Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege (also known as Fancy), promised that the incoming government of Alhaji Ododo will not deviate from the inclusive approach of the present administration in the state.
He charged the people of Zango Daji to jealously guide their Permanent Voter Cards (PVCs), stressing that it is the only means through which the impending victory of the party could be sealed firmly.
Earlier in an address, the Coordinator of Yakubu Support Organization (YSO) which exists across the 21 Local Government Areas of the state, Comrade Adams Ibrahim Okikiri said their support for the APC is premised on the uncommon achievements of Governor Yahaya Adoza Bello in the areas of security and equitable distribution of the commonwealth of the state.
Comrade Okikiri emphasized that “it is paramount to understand that Ododo’s candidacy is not just vertical or horizontal, rather, it captures the heartbeat of the people across the three Senatorial District of the State”
Also in a brief address, the Woman Leader of the campaign organization, Hajjiya Billy Onobo Ibrahim expressed optimism that the incoming government of Alhaji Ododo Ahmed Usman would give more opportunities for women to involve in the governance of the state.
Hajjiya Billy particularly appreciated all ethnic groups in Ozare Ward (in Zango Daji) for the assurance of their unalloyed support and commitment to actualise Ododo/Oyibo mandate come November 11th, 2023.
On his part, the Special Assistant to Kogi State Governor on Grassroots Sensitisation, Hon. Kekere Daniel Elijah urged the people of Zango Daji to engage in house to house sensitisation for Ododo/Oyibo election in order to obtain overwhelming margin of victory that will be difficult for opposition to challenge in the court.
Highlight of the programme was the official unveiling of Yakubu Support Organization (YSO) campaign Secretariat by Hon. Siyaka Yakubu Adabenege and other APC stalwarts.
