
Kogi First Lady Hajia Sefinat Ododo to Receive Special Merit Award on International Day of Persons with Disabilities

Lokoja — The Kogi State First Lady, Hajia Sefinat Ododo, will tomorrow (Wednesday, December 3, 2025, 10:00 am) receive a Special Merit Award for her outstanding contributions to the support of persons with disabilities (PWDs).
The award ceremony is part of the International Day of Persons with Disabilities celebrations in Lokoja, organized by Daratola Supportive Foundation in collaboration with the Office of the First Lady, Office of the Deputy Speaker (Kogi State House of Assembly), Ministry of Women Affairs, Kogi State Polytechnic, and the Kogi State Community & Social Development Agency.
Hajia Ododo will also serve as the Special Guest of Honour at the event. The global day, observed annually on December 3, this year carries the theme “Fostering Disability Inclusive Societies for Advancing Social Progress.”
Key highlights of the event is the Lead presentation by Dr. Mrs. P.F. Medupin, while there will be goodwill messages from Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo (Rector, Kogi State Polytechnic) and Chief Mallam Momoh Dauda (GM, KGCSDA)
There will be Facility inspection by guests, Awareness drive urging Kogites to support PWDs
Daratola Children Home (located behind former AEDC Regional Office, Tunde Ogbeha Road, GRA, Lokoja) is the venue’s base.
