Kogi Education Commissioner Seeks Ganaja Community’s Cooperation on School Establishment

The State Commissioner for Education, Hon. Wemi Jones, FCIB, has called on Ganaja community to cooperate with the State Government towards the development of the area and the state at large.

This is following the request made by Ganaja Village community for the establishment of a Government Secondary School in the area.

The commissioner, who visited the proposed school site with other government officials on Thursday at Ganaja village, assured the community of the commitment of His Excellency, Gov. Ahmed Ododo to education development across the state.

He stressed that the governor is passionate about the welfare of the people of Ganaja Village and would do everything possible to ensure that they enjoyed the dividends of democracy.

Jones, who was represented by the Special Adviser to the Governor on Education, Hon. Abdullahi Abdulmalik, noted that the proposed site is suitable for establishment of standard school.

He said the Ministry would forward the community’s request and recommendations to the governor for approval, stressing saying that the governor being a lover of education would graciously approve their demand.

The commissioner emphasised that the State Government needed only their cooperation and collaboration for the early take off of the school.

He noted that with the fast growing population of Ganaja Village community, one Government Secondary School would not be enough to meet the admission needs of the pupils.

In his address, HRH Anaza Gaku of Ganaja, Chief. Yakubu Abubaka Jibrin, appreciated the governor for his prompt response to matters affecting the welfare of the people of the state.

The royal father while expressed his gratitude to the commissioner and the governor for the intervention, and pledged the unalloyed support of Ganaja Village community to the programs and policies of the present administration.

He called on the state government to as a matter of urgency and necessity complete the Capt. Idris Wada bypass in order to open up the community for economic growth and development.
