KOGI DEPUTY GOV RECEIVES TRADITIONAL TITLE AS OGAH-ACHADU OKO ATTAH

 

The Palace of the Traditional Prime Minister of Igala Kingdom, Achadu Oko Attah, His Royal Highness, Alih Yusuf Ameh Adaji III, was filled with political leaders, party supporters, friends and well-wishers as the Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Comrade Joel Salifu, was honoured with a traditional title by his clan.

 

The ceremony coincided with the third anniversary of the Achadu Oko Attah on the throne and attracted dignitaries from across the state, including former Deputy Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Chief Edward David Onoja, National Leader of Ukomu Igala Organisation, Major General James Alilu Ataguba (Rtd), and other prominent Igala sons and daughters.

 

The Deputy Governor was conferred with the prestigious title of Ogah-Achadu Oko Attah, with the salutation “Dooga!” by his clan head, the Achadu Oko Attah, at his palace in Idah.

 

The title was presented as a mark of honour, recognition and appreciation of the Deputy Governor’s contributions to his people and his commitment to the development of the clan and the state.

Speaking at the ceremony, the Achadu Oko Attah described the title as a demonstration of the clan’s appreciation and honour for their son, Comrade Joel Salifu.

In his response, the Deputy Governor expressed gratitude to the traditional institution, his clan, family, friends and supporters for the honour. He reaffirmed his commitment to promoting peace, unity and development among the people.

He also thanked his principal, the Governor of Kogi State, His Excellency Alhaji Ahmed Usman Ododo, for finding him worthy to serve as his Deputy, and expressed appreciation to the immediate past Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, whom he described as the architect of his present political journey.
