Kogi Central: Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan Expresses Optimism of Picking PDP Senate Ticket


 

Former governorship candidate in Kogi State Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan has expressed optimism that she would beat other aspirants vying for the position of senate to pick the Peoples Democratic Party’s ticket to contest the 2023 general election.

Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan who stated this in Lokoja on Thursday during the aspirants screening exercise organised by the national body of PDP ahead of 2023 general election, noted that she will come out strong at the primary election , assuring that her popularity as a grassroot politician will give her edge against other contestants.

She promised that if given the mandate to represent the people of Kogi Central she will ensure that all industries including the Ajaokuta Steel is being revitalized to create jobs for Nigerian youth.

Olatunji Femi Edward who is also contesting for House of Representative Yagba federal constituency said his decision to contest the primary election was borne out of his desire to woo development to Yagba west that has been backward in term of basic social amenities.

He promised to ensure that the youth in the constituency are empowered to make them self reliance in order for them to shun thugering and other social vices.

Also speaking , Alloycious Okino who was screened for House of Representative Ajaokuta federal constituency, said the APC has failed the nation by virtue of their poor performance in the last seven years at the federal, state and local government, stressing that the PDP is battle ready to take over the mantle of leadership so that the country can be rescue from the maladministration of the ruling party.

“If elected my first priority is the resuscitation of the abundant Ajaokuta Steel company. The steel industry when completed and operation will generate huge income and massive job creation for the teeming unemployed youth. If given the opportunity I will pursue the resuscitation vigorously.

“It is a clear fact that the present APC government only used the steel industry for campaign and the political will is not there to complete the ailing industry” he said

Speaking on the electoral amendment, the former ALGON chairman noted that the amended electoral law if implemented will create a free and fair election in 2023
