Kogi Assembly Speaker Says We’re Not Rubber Stamp Legislators … Says Our Paramount Concern is Growth, Development


 

The Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Rt. Hon. Mathew Kolawole says the cordial relationship existing between the Legislature and the Executives is aimed at fast tracking growth and development of the State, should not mean that the Legislators are lame duck lawmakers.

Hon. Kolawole made the disclosure in a chat with Newsmen, disabused the minds of those who are thinking that the present Assembly as constituted are rubber stamp Legislators, said the Lawmakers are concerned about cordial working relationship that will fast track development.

The Speaker maintained that the Lawmakers have painstakingly scrutinized all request of the executives, pointed out that once due process is followed and ascertained that the request is for the good of the State, the Legislators would have no reason to slow down development.

The Speaker pointed out that all the needed requirements for the take off of the financial autonomy of the State House of Assembly has been concluded, said soon the full financial autonomy of the Kogi State House of Assembly would commence.
