Kogi ADC Warns Dino Melaye Against Parading as Party Member

The Kogi State chapter of the African Democratic Congress (ADC) has cautioned Senator Dino Melaye to stop presenting himself as a member of the party. The warning follows Melaye’s repeated involvement in ADC activities and attacks on the party.

ADC’s Kogi Public Relations Officer, Tayo John, stated on Friday in Lokoja that the party remains independent, with no merger or coalition involving Melaye. He emphasized that Melaye is neither a registered nor recognized member of ADC in Kogi State.

John described Melaye as “an imposter” whose activities are aimed at creating media noise rather than contributing to the party. He noted that Melaye has neither paid membership dues nor participated in party activities at any level.

Highlighting the credentials of Hon. Leke Abejide, John stressed that Abejide has been a financial member of ADC since 2018 and is a legitimate national and state stakeholder. “Melaye’s supposed suspension or expulsion of Abejide is illegal, and he should desist from impersonating ADC,” John added.

He further appealed to INEC, the Inspector General of Police, and the public not to take Melaye’s claims seriously, warning that attempts to undermine ADC will not be tolerated.
