Kogi 7th Assembly Dissolution: Fancy Media Team Commends Gov. Bello, Appreciates Outgone Lawmakers

A pro-Ododo/Oyibo media body, Fancy Media Team (FMT) has commended Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello for upholding the tenets of democracy by ensuring unfettered and smooth operation of Kogi State 7th Assembly which was today formally dissolved by the Governor.

The media team also commended the outgone members of the 7th Kogi State Assembly for being patriotic in the onerous task of building a stable Confluence State through effective and fruitful partnership with the executive in the course of their duties in the last four years.

Governor Yahaya Bello has earlier today dissolved the seventh Assembly members just as he expressed appreciation to the outgone members for their service to the government and the good people of the State.

Governor Bello in a valedictory session held on Monday 5th June, 2023 in Lokoja, noted that having successfully passed 1451 resolutions in the past four years, the 7th Assembly is the most vibrant and productive Assembly in the history of the state.

While urging the former lawmakers to continue on the path of tolerance, irrespective of religion, tribe or political affiliations, the Governor also used the opportunity to commended Kogi State journalists for ensuring factual reportage which he said has promoted peace and tranquility in the state.

Governor Bello also assured the people of Kogi State of his unflinching effort to smoke out all agents of criminalities in the state before and after election.

Earlier, the outgone Speaker of the 7th Kogi State House Of Assembly, Rt Honourable Matthew Kolawole in his valedictory speech, reminisced that the assembly had in the last seven years lost Hon. John Abba and Jimoh Omiata of Ibaji and Yagba East Constituencies respectively.

Rt. Hon. Kolawole appreciated the lawmakers for their unalloyed support towards ensuring the success of the seventh assembly while reiterating that the co-operation he enjoyed from members translated to good governance in the last seven years.

The Speaker corroborated that the Assembly had successfully passed 688 regular motions 52 bills of which 32 were executive bills and 20 which are private members bills. He further explained that 37 were passed and assented to by the Kogi State Government.

Fancy Media Team (FMT) whilst appreciating the seventh assembly for the job well done, urged the incoming Eight Assembly members to sustain and consolidate on the already established bills and resolutions of the house to further strengthen Kogi internal democracy.
