Kogi @ 34: Arch. Salman Idris Bags Outstanding Legislative Service Award.

 

The Member Representing Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency, Arch Salman Idris has been conferred with the Outstanding Legislative Service Award.

The Award was conferred on the Lawmaker at an event tagged Kogi @ 34 and Public Lecture and Award in celebration of the thirty fourth year of the creation of Kogi State organized by the publisher of Nigerian Post Newspaper in Lokoja.

Participants at the Kogi @ 34 Nigerian Post Newspaper Lecture, described the Lawmaker as a thorough breed Lawmaker, said his first term has been rewarding.

They added that his first term deserves commendation, urged him to continue in his trajectory of service to humanity, pointing out that he has justified his mandate.

Receiving the award, the Lawmaker, Arch Salman who was represented at the occasion thanked God and the Nigerian Post for finding him worthy for the award.

In their separate remarks, the Ohimegye Igu Kingdom HRM Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu, Prof. Salisu Usman Ogbo and Comr. Idris Miliki and others, described the Lawmaker as a round peg in a round hole.

“Where we are today especially where I am is a call to service and is so nice and so amazing to know that some people out there are watching what you’re doing and when you’re been watched on whatever task that you are into and there now deem it fit to say thank you, because I see award as a kind of appreciation to the little you’re doing and today I am been awarded with the most Outstanding Legislative Service Award.”

He commended the Publisher of Nigerian Post, Mr. Mike Abuh for his consistency in organising the annual event, adding that the award will spur him to do more.

“I thank God for this recognition and I give him all the glory. This award will spur me more into doing more because once they say you have been doing well, you have double your efforts. They people are indirectly telling you, that you need to do more and by God’s grace, God will lead me to do more for the people of Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency. It is a call to service and I will continue to serve the people.”

The Lawmaker dedicated the award to God Almighty and his constituents for giving him the opportunity to serve by electing him as the there lawmaker from the area, promised to do more.

On the 34th anniversary celebration of the creation of Kogi State, the Lawmaker noted that the State has made significant progress in the last thirty four years.

“Well we have gone a long way, so far so good, if you see from the creation of Kogi up to this moment, there is a lot of monumental changes and Kogi clocking thirty four is another step of progressive progress and there is a lot of progress in all this years down and at 34 we’re good to go in terms of Education, health, human development and politically. So Kogi at 34 we’re the best and we will continue to be the best. Kogi is a baby State but we could equate ourselves even with the older State and so we can not have it more good than now and what we are having in Kogi now, some of us that  started with it can not take it for granted so we bless God for Kogi.”

” I will continue to prioritize the welfare of the people of Kabba Bunu Ijumu Federal Constituency in all areas of representation”, Arch Salman assured.
