This was the summation of stakeholders and participants at this year’s The Nigerian Post Newspaper annual public lecture, where Alhaji Haruna emerged as an outstanding chairman when he served as Caretaker Chairman, described as a man committed to the development of Ijumu LGA.
Sen. Tunde Ogbeha Lakpini of Lokoja and Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni, who doubled as the Chairman of the event, urged the people of Ijumu LGA to look in the direction of Alhaji Haruna, pointing out that he is a passionately committed to the yearning and and aspirations of his people would do well if elected
In his response, Alhaji Haruna dedicated the award to the people of Ijumu LGA, pointing out that his preoccupation when he served as Chairman was security, and infrastructure development, pointing out that he will do more if elected.
He thanked The Management of Nigerian Post for fishing him out and the kind words of the participants, assured of more democracy dividends for the people when elected.

The event took place at the EdgeDrive Hotel Lokoja, had Gov. Usman Ahmed Ododo as the Special Guest of Honour.
The 2024 public lecture wad Chaired by Prof. Stephen Ikani Ocheni, former Minister of State, Labour and employment.
His Royal Majesty, the Ohimegye Igu Kingdom, Alhaji Saidu Akawu Salihu served as the Royal father of the day.
Speakers at the event includes; Prof. Marietu Tenuche, Vice Chancellor, Prince Abubakar University, Anyigba, Prof. John Alabi, Dr. Salisu Usman Ogbo, Rector , Kogi State Polytechnic, Lokoja and Ambassador Hamza Aliyu, CEO, Connected Development.
The 2024 edition “aimed at celebrating and critically examining the creation of Kogi State 33 years after, discussed unity as cardinal to future prospects and possibilities” of the State.
