KOCCIMA Unveils Strong Resolution for Kogi State Economic Growth. Being A Communique Issued By Kogi State Chamber of Commerce Industry, Mines And Agriculture (KOCCIMA) At Its 2026 Annual General Meeting/Conference And Investiture Of Dr Akerejola Demiloye As President Held On 26th March 2026 At The Banquet Hall Government House Lokoja.
The Annual Conference Has The Theme: Chamber Of Commerce As A Panacea For Public- Private Partnership
The Kogi Chamber of Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture (KOCCIMA) issued a communique outlining key resolutions aimed at boosting Kogi State’s Economy.
The resolutions were made at the 2026 Annual General Meeting and Conference, held on March 26, 2026, at the Banquet Hall, Government House, Lokoja.
The conference with the them “Chamber of Commerce as a Panacea for Public-Private Partnership,” attracted top government officials, private sector stakeholders, and industry leaders deliberated on key issued affecting Commerce, Industry, Mines and Agriculture and finally resolved as follows:
(1) KOCCIMA to serve as partner with Kogi State government to attract investors to drive economic development by creating a business-friendly environment, particularly in agriculture, mining and extractive industries.
(2) Government to provide infrastructure and a conducive environment for businesses to thrive through trades and exhibition.
(3) Coal deposits in the state should be collectively exploited by Kogites, with mining licenses made available to maximize value chain opportunities.
(4) Government to establish special funding windows to promote indigenous business opportunities, to drive export trade for Made in Kogi Products to enhance revenue generation, job creation and boost GDP in Nigeria
(5) Establish coal-based industries for energy, steel and cement production and other industrial uses.
(6) Position Kogi State as an industrial hub, by leveraging its steel and mineral resources.
(7) KOCCIMA to foster innovation, public-private dialogue, and position the state and members for regional and global trade opportunities.
(8) KOCCIMA to be enlisted on the State State Government protocol list for effective contribution and economic representation.
(9) Address multiple taxation issues affecting indigenous businesses, particularly emerging concerns.
(10) Commended the Kogi state government for establishing the Ajaokuta industrial park and free trade zone.
CONCLUSION:
The communique reflects KOCCIMA’s commitment to driving economic growth and development in Kogi State and, particularly through public-private partnership.
