By joshua Jubilation in Upogoro as Dr. Excel Onuche Empowers Thousands of Market Women for Tinubu, Ododo’s Continuity
There was celebration in Upogoro, the hometown of Kogi State Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo, on Monday as thousands of market women and entrepreneurs received cash grants and empowerment materials in a massive outreach organized by Dr. Excel Onuche David Ojo, Special Adviser to the Governor and Director General of the Native Boys Movement.
The empowerment programme, held under the banner of the Native Boy’s Movement for President Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ahmed Usman Ododo Continuity Campaign, drew market women associations, traders, and entrepreneurs from across Upogoro and neighbouring communities.
Addressing the beneficiaries, Dr. Excel Onuche described President Bola Ahmed Tinubu and Governor Ododo as visionary leaders who are committed to lifting citizens out of poverty through grassroots economic interventions.
He said the gesture was in line with the administration’s agenda of shared prosperity and inclusive growth, described their return with the People’s support as sacrosanct.
“President Tinubu and Governor Ododo understand the struggles of market women and small business owners. This empowerment is to inject capital into your businesses, restore your dignity, and ensure that no woman is left behind in the prosperity drive of this administration,” he stated.
The atmosphere in Upogoro was filled with singing, dancing and prayers as beneficiaries received the support packages. Many described the initiative as timely and life-changing, noting that it would help expand their trades and cushion the current economic realities.
Community leaders who spoke at the event commended Dr. Onuche for bringing development directly to the grassroots. They described both President Tinubu and Governor Ododo as outstanding leaders whose policies are touching ordinary Nigerians.
“We have seen the commitment of Mr President in stabilizing the economy, and we are seeing the impact of Governor Ododo here at home through roads, education, and now direct empowerment. We are proud of them,” one of the women leaders said.
The women unanimously assured that they remain solidly behind Governor Ododo and President Tinubu, pledging to mobilize massively for their continuity beyond 2027.
“We will stand with Ododo beyond 2027 because he has remembered us. He has shown that he cares about market women and the common people,” another beneficiary added.
Dr. Onuche thanked the Governor for providing the enabling environment for the programme and assured that the Native Boys Movement will continue to drive sensitization and grassroots mobilization to sustain support for the administration.
He urged beneficiaries to judiciously use the empowerment materials to grow their businesses and contribute to the economic development of Kogi State and the nation at large.
