JUBILATION IN KOGI COMMAND AS NEWLY PROMOTED 168 ASP II AND 153 ASP I WERE DECORATED;* *CP ONUOHA CHARGED THEM ON DISCIPLINE AND COMMITMENT TO DUTIES


 

About 168 Inspectors serving in Kogi State Police Command joins their colleagues across the Federation in jubilating for their promotion to the rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police II.

 

The Commissioner of Police, Kogi State Police Command CP Onuoha Bethrand C. psc (+), today Thursday 17th August, 2023 decorates 168 Inspectors to their new rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police while 153 Assistant Superintendent of Police were equally decorated to the substantive rank of Assistant Superintendent of Police I. The Officers were decorated with their new rank amidst cheers from families, friends and well-wishers.

The decoration is sequel to the promotion released by the Police Service Commission for the total number of 14,052 Inspectors to the rank of ASP II and 9,016 ASP II confirmed to substantive rank of ASP I.

The promotion was done in conjunction with the Nigeria Police Force under the amiable leadership of IGP Kayode Egbetokun, PhD, NPM, to the deserving Officers. The Inspectors who benefited from the promotion were those who attended the last Departmental Selection Board promotion interview while the ASPs were those who passed the confirmation Examination.

The CP while appreciating the IGP and the Chairman Police Service Commission for the promotion, congratulates the Officers for their well deserved promotion. He charged them to double their efforts noting that elevation is a call for greater commitment to the service of our dear Nation. He urges Officers to respect the fundamental human rights of citizens which is the Standard Operational Procedure for the Police. He warned the promoted Officers to remain disciplined as it is the bedrock of the Job.

In his remarks the Chief Judge of Kogi State, Hon. Justice JJ Majebi appreciates the Nigeria Police Force particularly the Officers attached to Judges Protection Unit for their commitment to duties and entire Officers and men of the Command for their efforts in ensuring the safety of lives and property in the State.

Also, the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Independence National Electoral Commission, INEC Dr Gabriel Hale Longpet congratulated the newly promoted Officers and thanks the Command for the robust working relationship the INEC, Kogi State has enjoyed especially during the last General Election. He request for more cooperation during the forthcoming November 11, 2023 Governorship election in the State.

IGP Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun PhD, NPM, The Police Service Commission as well as the Commissioner of Police Kogi State Police Command for the promotion.
