By joshua Jakadan Sokoto, Ex-Kogi Governor Ibrahim Idris, Dies At 77 In UK
Former Governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris, the Jakadan Sokoto, is dead.
He died in the early hours of today in the United Kingdom after a brief illness. He was 77.
His death was confirmed in a statement issued by his media aide, Abubakar Yusuf.
Alhaji Idris, who turned 77 in April 2026, governed Kogi State for nine years, from 2003 to 2012.
A renowned philanthropist, community and political leader, he was a member of the Board of Trustees of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, before his passing.
His remains will be conveyed to Nigeria for burial in his ancestral home.
He is survived by his wife, Hajia Aisha Ibrahim Idris, children and grandchildren.
