The Iyalode of Aiyetoro-Gbedde, Chief (Mrs.) Motolani Rasheedat Salawu, will be the Lady Chairperson of the Ogidi Day Festival holding in Ogidi, Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State on Saturday, June 19, 2021.
Iyalode Motolani, in accepting the invitation, said she felt honoured to take up the role because the objectives of the festival tallied with her life long commitment to cultural renaissance and community development.
She said she believed such occasions served as reminders to the people of the need to take their fate in their hands in the face of dwindling government capacity to meet their needs.
Chief (Mrs) Motolani Rasheedat Salawu is the Iyalode of Ayetoro-Gbede, in Ijumu Local Government Area, Kogi State and the Aare (President), Association of Iyalode in Yorubaland.
An entrepreneur, cultural ambassador, relationship expert, , motivational writer and speaker on attitude and lifestyle, Chief (Mrs) Salawu is a campaigner for the good life for the girl child and the Founder/Chairperson, Board of Trustees of Virtuous Women Pillars Club, a not-for-profit organization that focuses on the re-orientation of younger women for a healthier society and brighter future as well as education for orphans and girls from broken homes.
She had worked at managerial positions in the Administrative, Finance, Sales and Marketing departments of reputable companies – Dangote Plc, UACN Plc, LaCasera Plc, Leo Group respectively – in Nigeria. She rose to the peak of her career as The National Sales Manager before retiring at a very young age to her personal business.
A member of Association of Nigerian Authors and Lions Club International, Chief (Mrs) Salawu is married with children.
