INTERNATIONAL INSTITUTE OF GLOBAL AFFAIRS (IIGA) DEBUT IN KOGI

IIGA was formed on Monday 26th of September 2022 at Anyigba, Kogi State Nigeria, to promote the knowledge on global affairs, promote world peace leading to sustainable development and ultimately the attainment of a better world.

Objectives.

To promote knowledge of Global affairs.
To professionalize and make more academic the knowledge of global affairs.
To create employment opportunities through promoting knowledge of Global affairs
To promote peace amongst people of different tribes, religion, Nationality and ideologies. Through panel discussion, round table, presentations, conferences and workshops, we shall collaborate with high level academics, top civil servants. Politicians, policy makers, Government officials, Diplomats, and other opinion leaders to deliberate on contemporary and complex world issues.

Thematic Areas.

World politics/Governance, World Economy, international Agriculture, international security, Music,/Language and Culture, Environment/climate change, ICT, Science and Technology, and Sports.

To promote knowledge on global affairs leading to world peace and sustainable development and hence a better world.

Membership.

Membership is open to Graduates of all disciplines, so long as they meet other requisite requirements.
Prospective members will apply for membership by purchasing, completing and returning an application form, membership committee shall peruse the application forms and other support documents and thereafter disapprove or approve applications and subsequently place members on Grades.

MEMBERSHIP GRADES
There are five membership Grades as follows.

Graduate Member (GM IIGA).

Holders of First Degree and higher National Diploma without requisite experience and sufficient knowledge of global affairs are admitted as Graduate members and can use the insignia GMIIGA.

Associate Member (AM IIGA).

Holders of a Masters Degree, Graduate, members that have spent three (3) years and participated in al least one (1).

Mandatory continuing professional training.

(MCPT) within the three (3) years period, and participation in at least one (1) annual global affairs conference and AGM and holders of a first degree or Higher National Diploma (HND) with requisite experience and requisite knowledge of global affairs as determined by the membership and Grading committee.

Member ( M IIGA)
Holders of Ph.D degree in any discipline, Associate Members who have spent three (3) years and attended at least one (1) (MCPT) and passed the prescribed examination and also participated in at least one (1) Global Affair Conference and AGM and also first Degree holders or Higher National Diploma (HND) with adequate experience and knowledge of Global affairs and can use the insignia M IIGA.

Associate Fellow.

Three (3) years as full members, participation in at least one (1) MCPT during the 3-year period and participation in at least one (1) annual Global affairs conference and AGM as well as passing the prescribed examination and interview. The insignia is AFIIGA.

Fellow.

Three (3) years as Associate Fellow, Participation in at least one (1) MCPT during the three (3) year period, participation in at least one (1) annual Global Affairs Conference and AGM within the three year period as well as passing the prescribed examination and interview.
The insignia is F IIGA.

Benefit of the Institute to Members
–Knowledge gain and sharing, capable of creating employment opportunities, can facilitate promotion on the job/career enhancement /career progression, opportunity to network and meet with people from other countries and societal recognition.

Benefit of the Institute to the Larger Society.

The knowledge of global affairs can be used to solve numerous global challenges, fostering of peace and unity across the globe, can enhance sustainable development

Annual Conference and Annual General Meeting

There shall be an annual Global Conference and annual General meeting once every year at dates and venues to be agreed upon.

WhatsApp Group.

There shall be a whatsApp group for members for sharing of information, group discussions, case studies and brain storming.

Committees.

There shall be committees such as membership and grading committee, finance, conference and AGM, Electoral Committees as well as committees on the thematic areas
Membership Application Form Fees, Annual Dues and Induction Fees.

Membership.
Application form shall be obtained at the cost of Two Thousand Naira (N 2000) only either online or hard copy.
Annual dues and induction fees are be as follows: Annual Dues Induction.
Graduate members N 3,000 5,000
Associate members N 6,000 10,000
Member N 9,000 15,000
Associate fellow N 12,000 20,000
Fellow N15,000 25,000

The above fees are subject to periodical review.

Staffing.

The day to day running of the institute will be done by the Registrar and other support staff at the headquarters of the institute to be located in Abuja.

Election
Election shall take place every two (2) years to elect the institutes officials, the posts are:
President, Vice president, Secretary General, Financial Secretary, Treasurer, Welfare Officer, Public Relations Officer, Assistant Secretary General, Technical Officer.
