IMC CMMRC Group Identifies Security Threats In Kogi.


 

 

Members of the CMMRC Group of the Interfaith Mediation Council have identified the ongoing Imamship tussle in Okene as a time bomb, asked the relevant security authorities and government to quickly find a way of resolving the crisis before it escalate.

This and other security threats that may escalate if not addressed where identified by the CMMRC during a Media engagement with the Press in Kogi State with Members expressing worries over true high increase of crimilality in Kabba.

The Meeting which took place under the leadership of Barr. Ayodeji Emmanuel as Coordinator of the CMMRC was to identify security threats in the previous months, identified the killing of a young man by a Police officer in Kabba and the reprisal attacks by angry youths in the community that led to the burning down of the old police barracks in Kabba as unfortunate.

The Members notes as unfortunate the consequent random of Okada and Keke Napep riders on the street as a security threat that may escalate if not checked.

The Members identified the incessant reported cases of political instability in Idah by the Council Chairman of the LGA who was fingered in many instances as another security breach in the state.

Other security threats identified by Members include the total break down of law and order in Bagana Omala LGA. Occasioned by Kingship tussle laced with religious crises, urged the security agencies to up their games to avoid further security breeches.

Members of the media present at the meeting disclosed that the Kogi State NUJ had in its last Congress listed all the security issues discussed at the IMC CMMRC Group Meeting.
