The National Chairman of Ohiowa Development Association Lokoja Branch, Mr Monday Ekpa has called on members of the association to imbibe a character that is devoid of tendencies of disintegration but champion developmental course to justify their coming together.
Mr. Monday Ekpa made this call while ago in Lokoja the Kogi State capital while addressing members of the association in their just-concluded annual meeting.
Mr. Ekpa who emphasized that his administration is aimed at championing the course of unity of the Ohiowa clan also revealed that his tenure would bring about lots of developmental achievements to Ohiowa as a family and its members within the Lokoja Branch.
The Chairman who acknowledged that the Association has come to stay also charged members to bring more family members who are yet to join the Association, stressing that in so doing other branches across the nation would emulate them.
In his word “Ohiowa Development Association in Lokoja has come to stay and I want to use this opportunity to call on all members of the family who are yet to join the Association to register as soon as we come back from Christmas break.” He said.
“My passion is to justify the confidence reposed on me as the chairman of this noble association by making Ohiowa a unique clan in the entire Emodu” Chiefdom he added
In his appreciation message, Mr Ekpa acknowledged the patron of the Association Mr Eleojo Emmanuel Ohiemi for reviving the association, he also commended Mr Atayi Ohiemi for all-round support, the secretary of the association Mr Daniel Baba for logistics support and the EXCOs.
Addressing the need to communicate properly on the events and programmes of the association, Mr Stephen I. Idoko after giving a vote of thanks promised to step up on his responsibilities as the Public Relations Officer of the association to bridge the communication gap in the discharge of his duties, adding that the era of GSM has made communication easier.
The highlight of the meeting was the praise and worship section led by the welfare officer of the Association Mrs Lydia Ibrahim and a minute silence in honour of the Late Mashal Agbo and Lucy Demia was observed.
The chairman, in his closing remarks, appreciated all the participants for their dedication to the family course and further announced the closure of the meeting for the year.
