IMANE PEOPLE WILL NOT REWARD EIGHT YEARS OF FAILURE – G-ONE CAMPAIGN COUNCIL REPLIES HALIMS’ PROMOTERS OVER FAKE DIASPORA ENDORSEMENT

The G-One Enenche Campaign Council has dismissed as laughable and politically desperate, a viral video purporting to announce the endorsement of Hon. Ibrahim Alih Halims as the sole candidate of the Imane people, declaring that manufactured endorsements cannot replace legislative performance, accountability and tangible development.
In a press statement signed by Idako Enemali, issued by its Directorate of Strategic and Corporate Communications, the Council challenged the incumbent lawmaker to stop hiding behind rented voices and publish his eight-year record of representation – including projects executed in Imane, their exact locations, contract sums, sources of funding and completion status.
The Council said the political future of Imane cannot be determined by unverified declarations circulated online, but by a careful assessment of performance, achievements and capacity.
According to the Council, checks conducted with branches of the Imane Development Union, IDU, in Abuja, Kaduna and Kano showed that no meeting was held and no resolution was reached to adopt Halims as the sole candidate of the community.
It therefore challenged the individual featured in the video and his sponsors to disclose the date and venue of the alleged meeting, the names of participants and the minutes of proceedings.
“Any claim to represent the collective political position of the Imane people must be backed by credible evidence and an authentic mandate. The Imane Development Union remains the only recognised sociocultural body for communicating the community’s collective position. No individual can present his personal political preference as the unanimous decision of our people,” the Council stated.
Describing the video as a deliberate attempt to create an impression of overwhelming support for the incumbent, the Council insisted that popularity is determined by the confidence of the electorate and record of service, not by unsubstantiated claims of endorsement.
The Council maintained that Imane deserves a more substantive political conversation focused on development, accountability and the quality of representation received over the years.
Turning to Halims’ performance, the Council said after eight years in the House of Representatives, the lawmaker should be prepared to give account.
“Let him publish what he has done for Imane in eight years. Where are the projects? What are the contract sums? Where are the funds committed to constituency development? Let constituents assess him on verifiable facts, not on viral videos,” it demanded.
It stressed that legislative representation must be judged by measurable contributions, effective advocacy, accessibility to constituents and tangible interventions that improve lives, not by propaganda.
The G-One Enenche Campaign Council reaffirmed its support for Alhaji Gowon Enenche, the Social Democratic Party, SDP, candidate for Ankpa Federal Constituency, presenting him as a credible alternative for voters seeking accountable leadership and purposeful representation across Ankpa, Omala and Olamaboro.
It urged Imane indigenes, particularly youths and community leaders, to exercise caution when sharing unverified political content, warning that misleading claims could create unnecessary confusion and division within the community.
The Council also called on eligible voters to obtain their Permanent Voter Cards, PVCs, participate actively in the democratic process and make informed decisions about the future of their constituency.
“No individual or political camp can unilaterally claim the collective mandate of the Imane people without credible evidence of an authorised community decision. The central issue for voters remains the quality of representation, delivery of constituency projects and accountability of those entrusted with public office,” the statement concluded.
