By Yahaya Idris, Lokoja. It is no longer a hidden fact that Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello, on Tuesday in Abuja, clinched the POLITICIAN OF THE YEAR AWARD by the Blueprint Newspaper.
The recent award was in recognition of the Governor’s outstanding leadership qualities and decisive handling of the security situation in the state and his political participation in all endeavors.
A statement by the Governor Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Muhammed says Kogi state governor, His Excellency Yahaya Bello received the award at the Blueprint Annual Public Lectures and impact Series/Award at the International Conference Centre, Abuja on Tuesday.
Reacting to the honor done by the Governor of Kogi State by one of the Nation’s prominent Newspaper, Blueprint, Engineer Muhammed Abubakar Bashir Gegu, the State Commissioner in charge of the Ministry for Solid Minerals and Natural Resources, has congratulated the governor of Kogi State, Alhaji Yahaya Bello on his emergence as the best politician of the year Award by the blueprint Newspaper.
The commissioner said the award do not come to him as a surprise owing to the Governor’s sincere commitment to reducing poverty through various interventions and wealth creation for teeming youths, women and people of the State.
According to him, Governor Yahaya Bello has transformed the state to an enviable height by bringing the government closer to the rural dwellers and increasing business activities, deflating insecurity to an appreciable level.
“Nigerians and the Media are impressed with the Governor’s performance in areas of infrastructures, security and economy and hence the award.”
He said. While praying for the Governor’s success, he, therefore, urged other governors and leaders in the country to emulate his leadership style.
