Kogi State Governor, Alhaji Yahaya Bello says he will be leaving the State better than he met it.
Gov. Bello stated this at a Gala night organized to mark the end of the 3rd Annual GYB Seminar for Political and Crime Correspondents/Editors, held at Transcorp Hilton, Abuja.
Gov. Bello assured that he will not fold his arms and allow the State return back to where it was in 2016, said he met a State that was disunited, divided sharply along ethnic lines.
The Governor however expressed satisfaction that he has been able to fulfill his promise to unite the people of the State, promised to continue to serve the State even outside the office as Governor in 2024.
As for the next Kogi State Governorship election, Bello said it will be one of the most freest, peaceful and credible election, assured that the APC Governorship Candidate, Alhaji Usman Ahmed Ododo will win landslide.
Gov. Bello hinged his optimism on the achievements his administration has made as well as the capacity, competence and experience of the APC Governorship Candidate.
While pointing out that measures that would assure that the election is peaceful is being put in place, Gov. Bello however warn criminals planning to operate under the guise of the election of no hiding place.
“Citizens of Kogi State are happy and are already showing passion to elect Alhaji Ododo”.
” With the acceptability of Alhaji Ododo and the clear evidence that he will win the election. There will be no need for violence. We will be Campaigning on record of our achievements that had made us win previous elections. We will however deal with trouble makers who are bent on disrupting the peace of the State”.
Gov. Yahaya Bello appealed to Nigerians to give President Ahmed Bola Tinubu a chance, expressed optimism that under his leadership Nigeria will be prosperous, cautioned against politics of religion and ethnicity.
