Ijumu PDP Adopts Hon. Joseph Abejide alias Kapa as Chairman of Ijumu Local


 

Caution Sen. Melaye Against Dividing the Party.

COMMUNIQUE ISSUED AT THE END OF IJUMU LOCAL GOVERNMENT AREA PDP MEETING HELD ON 19TH NOVEMBER 2021 AT EGBEDA-EGGA ~IJUMU.

The meeting of PDP Ijumu Local Government Area held in Egbeda-Egga to review the outcome of the recently concluded congress of the party held on the 5th of October 2021.

The meeting comprises of the 15 Wards Executives, Local Government Executives, Party Chieftains and stakeholders from ijumu Local Government Area.

Among those present at the meeting were; Chief Abiodun Ojo (Former member of House of Representatives and Former commissioner for Finance and Agriculture) Hon. Adams Olorunmo( former member, of Kogi State House of Assembly) Hon.S K Adekunle(former member of Kogi State House of Assembly), Hon.Emmanuel Olukade ( Pioneer PDP Chairman in Ijumu LGA), Hon.Benson Omofe( Kogi West PDP Zonal Chairman), Hon Segun Ojo(Former Executive Vice Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area and Former SA to Kogi State Governor).

Others present were ; Hon. Paul Aiyenigba( Former SA to Kogi State Governor), Hon. Lateef Haruna(Former Councillor and supervisory Councillor) Hon Mufutau Mesaiyete(Former SSA to Kogi State Governor) Hon.Samson Obademi(Former Vice-chairman and SA to Kogi State Governor), Hon.Job Ologe(Former Council Leader of Ijumu Local Government Area), Hon. Japhet, Otitolaiye, Mr. Dominic, Hon Temidayo Olowoleru, Arc Tunde Balogun, and the recently elected PDP Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area, Hon. Joseph Abejide alias Kapa.

Also, presents were 11 Ward Chairmen, 12 Local Government Executives members, and host of other leaders, stakeholders and party faithfuls.

The following were the resolutions at the high powered meeting;

1. We acknowledged the massive turn out of the Wards Executives, the Local Government executives and party stakeholders that attended the meeting despite the very short notice.

2. We stand by the tenets of democracy and we applaud the democratic processes and principles as enshrined in the constitution of our party, the PDP and the Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 as amended.

3. Having considered the outcome of the congress held in Iyara-Ijumu on the 5th of October, 2021. The fifteen wards ( 15) present unanimously agreed to adhere to and stand by the outcome of the congress which elected HON. JOSEPH ABEJIDE alias Kapa as the PDP Chairman of Ijumu Local Government Area.

4. The meeting REJECTED in its entirety the SUBVERSIVE ACTS and USURPATION of the will and wishes of Ijumu people evidenced by the IMPOSITION of one Samuel Olabode Olorunmaiye by Senator DINO MELAIYE and his cohorts for the office of the PDP Chairman, Ijumu Local Government Area.

5. The meeting viewed the usurpation of Dino Melaye as contemptuous and deliberate ploy to divide the party in the Local Goverment and place it on a war path in his usual characteristics.

6. The meeting resolved to follow due process and strict adherence to party guidelines in electing all officers of the party with transparency and honesty as watch word in all elections of the party.

7. The meeting resolved NOT TO BE INTIMIDATED by any individual no matter how highly placed in the scheme of things.

8. The meeting further resolved to warn Dino Melaye and his co-travellers to allow peace to reign in Ijumu PDP and that his evil intentions shall be resisted by every legal means available within the party and the laws of the land.

This communique was unanimously approved by all the party members present at the meeting.

Hon Emmanuel Yomi Oluyori the newly elected Vice Chairman of the PDP in Ijumu Local Government Area chaired the meeting.
