Igu Kingdom Celebrates Princess Barr. Mariam Salihu’s Call to Bar
Today, the people of Koton Karfe Kingdom and beyond rejoiced as Princess Barr. Mariam Salihu, daughter of His Majesty Dr. Saidu Akawu Salihu, The Ohimegye Igu Koton Karfe was called to the Nigerian Bar.
In a show of solidarity and support, a large number of young and elderly men and women from Koton Karfe Kingdom, including notable government officials, converged on Abuja to celebrate this special occasion with Barr. Mariam Salihu. The Hon. Commissioner for Solid Minerals to Kogi State government, Hon Bashiru Gegu, House Of Reps Memeber representing Lokoja/Koto Federal Constituency at the National Assembly Hon. Danladi Aguye, Hon. Salman Idris, House of Rep Member representing Kabba, Speaker Kogi State House of Assembly, Former House Of Reps Member representing Lokoja/Koto Hon. Alh Haruna, Ambassador Yahaya Shaibu, The Agbo of Koton Karfe Kingdom, Former Kogi Local Government Chairman, Hon Shaban (No Case), Senator Ado Shaibu, Alh. Mumuni NNPC and the staff of NNPC, Alh. Barr. Shaba Ibrahim SAN,, Alh Abdullahi AB Halilu, The Asumehe Kaka of Koton Karfe, Alh Sani Mainasara Kanwa and the Ohinoyi of Ahoko (Gabo) were among the distinguished personalities who attended the ceremony.
Following the call to Bar ceremony, they also attended a grand reception in honor of Barr. Mariam Salihu, hosted by His Majesty.
The celebration was a demonstration to the strong bond between His Majesty and his subjects, whom he holds in high esteem. This also showcase the Unity in the kingdom which values that His Majesty has consistently promoted.
