
The Igala Youths Council (IYC) has called on Kogi State government to deploy more Security personnel in Kogi East to ensure the safety of lives and property.
Addressing the Deputy Governor of kogi State ,His Excellency ,Chief Edward Onoja in Lokoja, the National Excos and all Local Governments Coordinators led by the National President of the IYC, Hon. Collins Onogu Monday point out that the rising level of insecurity in kogi east was worrisome and called for the beefing up of security presence in the area.
In his response, His Excellency, Chief Edward Onoja welcomed the body and express government’s desire to flush out all criminal elements in kogi State .
He said the State government had deployed recently more security personnel to flash points in the State.
He said that the state government had just inaugurated Community Police with over two hundred police constabularies trained to boost intelligence gathering and to work hand in hand with the vigilante group, Civil defence, police and other armed forces to make the state safer than ever before.
In a remark, the National Treasurer, Miss Uwunchola Edobo Maryjane called on the State government to intervene in the construction of Ibaji road as the deplorable state of the road was causing untold hardship to the people.
The advocacy visit is to continue round other Igala Illustrious son’s and daughters to see how to develop Igala land.
