Igala sons and daughters tasked to support new Atta Igala – Professor (Chief) Stephen Ikani Ocheni

of the Atta-Igala, Professor (Chief) Stephen Ikani Ocheni has urged Igala sons and daughters both home an outside to support the paramount ruler of the Kingdom, His Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa, the 28th Atta-Igala in his quest to unite his subjects and bring prosperity to the land.

Professor( chief) Ocheni made the call while speaking with Journalists at the presentation of Staff of Office to the Igala top Monarch today in Idah.

Professor Ocheni who holds the title of Omachi Atta-Igala stated that with the full cooperation and support of all, the Monarch would discharge his responsibilities to the admiration of all,thereby enhancing the speedy development of the Kingdom.

He pointed out that the large out of Igala sons and daughters as well as other personalities, including prominent traditional rulers from different parts of the Country for the ceremony shows the popularity the stool of the Monarch both within and outside his domain.

Professor Ocheni who is a former Minister of State, Labour and Employment expressed optimism that Igala land will witness new dawn under the reign of His Majesty Matthew Alaji Opaluwa Oguche Akpa.

“I’m highly elated with what I saw today, the personalities, including prominent traditional rulers from different parts of the Country who came to grace this epoch making occasion speaks volume. It shows the respect Nigerians have for the throne of the Atta-Igala, it’s a thing of joy to be part of this historic occasion.

” The paramount ruler has vast experience, a man of immense wisdom, had unblemished record from the public service, and above all a man of impeccable character.

Professor Ocheni maintained that Igala Kingdom will witness accelerated growth and uncommon development under the reign of the present Monarch.

The former Minister called on the traditional ruler to harness the various potentials and skills among his subjects in the interest of the development of Igala land, just as he equally enjoined the Atta-Igala to address the issue of “Pull Him Syndrome” in the Area.

“The Atta-Igala should as a matter of priority evolve means to put a stop to this negative and counter productive attitude among some sons and daughters of Igala land”.

Professor Ocheni commended kogi state Governor Alhaji Yahaya Bello for the presentation of Staff of Office to the Atta-Igala, saying the people of the area will continue to pray for the actualization of his Presidential movement.

The former Minister added that Governor Yahaya Bello has all the experience and qualities to successfully pilot the affairs of the Country, urging Nigerian youths to vote one of their own as the next President of the country…. Continue reading
