
In the history of countries and empires, they’re certain exceptional perspectives and achievements that their citizens have attained, hence having their names written in gold either in the art of wars or political maneuvering;s: memorable attainments of such personalities abounds through centuries.
Most of them impacted the lives of individuals, nations, empires and kingdoms without their knowing.
These sets of leaders and rulers abounds: from George Washington of the United States of America to Winston Churchill of Great Britain to Napoleon Bonaparte of French Empire and Julius Caesar of the defunct Roman Empire. Lee Kwan Yu of Singapore is also a typical example of how leadership that works can transform a small non relevant States to a powerful country.
Back home, we have had heroes and/or leaders that have shaped our destinies as a nation. From the likes of Dr. Nnamdi Azikiwe, Sir Tafawa Balewa, Sir Ahmadu Bello, the Sardauna of Sokoto, Chief Obafemi Awolowo, Mall. Aminu Kano just to mention but few, have all made impacts at different times in the history of our country. From the time of independence till now, the Nigerian nation has methamaphoses into a strong and virile society with contributions from the above mentioned politicians caving a niece for themselves.
In a similar vein, the history of modern Kogi State cannot be written without mentioning the sterling qualities of His Excellency, Alhaji Dr. Ibrahim Idris, CON, Jakadan Sokoto, the longest serving Executive Governor of Kogi State and in the country, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris came to Kogi State as an underdog governorship aspirants in 2003, he got elected and ruled through to 2012. During this memorable period, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris initiated and executed so many people-oreinted projects from the standardisation of the State University at Anyigba to a model, comparable to any University in the world to the construction of heart-breaking roads and constructions of an International Markets and Confluence Stadium both in Lokoja the State Capital. He also initiated the dualization of the Headquarters of the 21 Local Government Areas (LGAs) of Kogi State. It is on record that during his reign, they wasn’t any opposition political parties in the whole of Kogi state. The then government of Alhaji Ibrahim idris paid the WAEC/NECO fees of all Secondary Schools final year students. Kogi State students were paid scolarships without strexx. His youth empowerment programs was second to known as millions of Kogites were empowered with different vocational skills.
Alhaji Ibrahin Idris is an epitome of transparency and accountability who ruled for 9-years without blemish.
And 10 years out of office, he’s still solving problems, intervening in the welfare and wellbeing of the citizens of Kogi State and beyond. He’s is a detribalised Nigerian who was bestowed with one of the highest traditional titles by the Sultan of Sokoto as Jakadan Sokoto. This honour which is the equivalent to an Ambassador of the Sultanate is one of the highest honour ever bestowed on a non indigenes by the Sultanate. The Etsu Nube also recognized this man of history with a deserving yraditional titles. Omachi Attah was also bestowed on him by the late Attah of Igalaland, HRM, Alhaji Aliyu Obaje and so many other titles that are numerous to mention.
A law graduate of the University of Abuja, Alhaji Ibrahim Idris is an astute businessman. He owns Ibro hotel conglomerate both in Abuja and Sokoto.
It’s with this steering qualities that *Ibro Leadership Forum* was formed in order to encourage the younger generations to practice and upholds his ideals, traits and philosophies. The Forum is therefore opened to like minds and all those that believe in his leadership qualities of Alhaji Ibrahim Idris.
