Engr. Abubakar Sadiq Ohere says he is leaving the position of the Senate with a sense of profound fulfillment and satisfaction.

 

Engr. Ohere made the disclosure while addressing Newsmen, says he accepts the judgement with complete submission to the will of God, therefore congratulated the winner.

Recalled that the Court of Appeal, sitting in Abuja on Tuesday upheld the ruling of the election petition tribunal which removed Abubakar Sadiku Ohere of the All Progressives Congress, APC, and declared Natasha Akpoti-Uduaghan of the PDP as the legitimately elected Senator for the Kogi Central Senatorial District.

The election petition tribunal, had on September 6, affirmed Natasha as the duly elected Senator as it nullified Ohere’s victory citing inflated polling results in favor of Ohere in some units and deliberate undercounting against Akpoti-Uduaghan.

Below is the address by Engr. Ohere:

“My fellow esteemed Kogi Central People,

“It is with deep sense of humility that I address you today on the recent development as regards the Appeal Court judgement that nullified my election as a Senator representing our Senatorial District.

“While this outcome may be difficult for many of you who have placed your unwavering trust and belief in my vision/capacity for progress and development, I accept this judgement with complete submission to the will of God! I therefore congratulate the winner.

“I understand that this news may come as a disappointment to those who had hoped for my continued service, but in the face of adversity, it is essential that we reflect upon the accomplishments we have achieved during my short but very impactful stay in the Nigerian Senate.

“Together, we have set records and achieved remarkable feats within the confines of a short time period.

“Through the introduction of crucial motions and the proposal of impactful bills, our collective efforts have been dedicated to the betterment of Nigeria, Kogi State, and specifically the development of Kogi Central.

“Our commitment to touching lives through skills acquisitions, medical care, educational empowerment, and various other initiatives has left an indelible mark on our beloved community.

“I am truly grateful for the love you have shown me and for the votes you casted in my favor. It is because of your unwavering support and belief in me that I have found the strength and determination to serve you diligently. Although circumstances have led to the end of my time in the Senate, I can unequivocally say that I leave this position with a sense of profound fulfillment and satisfaction.

“I implore each and every one of you to embrace this spirit of fulfillment, for our journey does not end with a single setback.

“In this moment, I would like to express my heartfelt appreciation to my leader, His Excellency, Alhaji Yahaya Adoza Bello, CON for his quintessential leadership, guidance at all times and mentorship.

“Your unwavering support has been instrumental in my growth and development as a leader. It is through your visionary leadership that we have made significant strides in transforming Kogi state and the Central Senatorial district in particular, and for that, I am eternally grateful.

“Let us remain united as the strong and steadfast community of people that we have always been.
