I am deeply saddened by the news of the passing of our king, His Royal Majesty, Olu Kiri of Kiri-land, Olu Jerome Mosiko, who has just gone to meet his ancestors.
In this sad time, I express my condolence to all members of the Royal Family, The Pejegbo in Council and the people of Kiri-land. Indeed, with his passing, we have lost a father. He translated his values and discipline as a professional teacher and Head Master in Akutupa into qualities with which he governed his traditional domain with integrity and firmness coupled with the elegant aura of royalty he exuded to the pride of Kiri-land.
This nexus he drew so positively between education, teaching and good traditional leadership is what underscores the importance of his life to me as a person and to the Ministry of Education which I represent.
His Majesty had dedicated his life to moulding behaviours of pupils, students and his subjects to maintain high educational and moral values, learning and character in our society.
There is no doubt that His Majesty’s wisdom and devotion were enduring sources of strength and comfort for the people of Kiri Kingdom and beyond. These will be remembered for generations to come.
On behalf of Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, myself and my family, I offer the people of Kiri Kingdom our deep sympathies, praying that the Almighty God will grant the Royal family the fortitude to bear this irreparable loss and grant his soul eternal repose.
